Wenruitang River, also known as the mother river of Wenzhou people, is located in the Wenrui Plain between Oujiang River and Feiyun River in the territory of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, with a total area of 34 kilometers.
Wenruitang River has a long history, the earliest is the strait between Wenzhou coastline and Daluo Mountain, from ancient times to now has been playing its important shipping function. Since Southern Song Dynasty, Wenruitang River plays an important role of water transportation. Gradually assumed the function of passenger transportation.
Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, dragon boat rowing activities are held in different sections of the Wenruitang River, which has therefore become one of the most important venues for the promotion of traditional culture and folklore in Wenzhou.
