Xuedao Liu (Audrey) is majoring in Master of Journalism – Documentary Filmmaking Specialisation at HKU, with an undergraduate degree in Filmmaking.

Born in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China, she has been passionate about fieldwork and video documentation since high school. Although her MBTI is INFP, she is very outgoing when dealing with interviewees.

Audrey always dreams of becoming a documentary filmmaker who has an understanding of anthropology. She has interviewed more than a hundred people, with an interest in the issues of the elderly and the disabled. She has conducted research for more than two years on topics such as care models of families with Alzheimer’s disease, elderly care practices in urban and rural areas and gender perspectives in China, educational inequalities of visually impaired students, and life-skills acquisition and social integration of the visually impaired.

She is more interested in every real and concrete person in the era than the renewal of technological products and wants to record every ordinary and extraordinary story in her way. She hopes that every person and every story can be recorded and leave traces so that every person under her lens can be seen and remembered more. She will also continue to take action, document, and make a difference, using documentaries to connect more people.
