Jinyu’s studied in Shanghai for four years, and her undergraduate major was Broadcast & TV Director (Photography and Videography). During her undergraduate studies, she mainly studied the history of documentaries, documentary filming techniques, and television production-related courses.
Jinyu comes from Chengdu, where the natural environment and humanities are very outstanding, so she cares about natural and social issues. She directed a documentary about the problems contemporary fishermen face in the scarcity of marine resources and the development of the times. The theme shows the fishermen’s awe of the ocean, the cycle of life, and compliance with policies.
She was very excited to come to Hong Kong for the first time and couldn’t wait to explore Hong Kong’s unique history and culture. She also hoped to learn more about documentaries at the University of Hong Kong and produce a meaningful and satisfying documentary.
