Luxiao is currently a student of Master of Journalism in Documentary Filmmaking Specialization at HKU, with a First-Honour undergraduate degree in Film and TV at HKBU, exchanged at Emerson College.

Born and raised in Shenzhen, Luxiao went to the US as an exchange student and published a 300,000-word book called Bloomed at the age of 16. She has been interested in the media industry since high school and has worked for films such as A Man and a Woman, and variety shows such as Day Day Up, Call Me By Fire, and Qingnianpaijihua.

Most of her works are in the creative arts (such as music videos, and advertisements) and Non-Fiction. Her most recent work, a 33-minute Non-Fiction short film, takes her to Hawaii, Shenzhen, and Beijing to document the different ways middle-class Chinese care for their elderly, which is a topic that she has been passionate about since high school. As an independent filmmaker, Luxiao takes the camera with her at all times. She is always able to take on multiple important roles on set, and her new Non-Fiction work is on the way.

Luxiao is also a dancer, basketball player, and stylist.
