Since I was young, my mother sent me to learn piano, dance, and language broadcasting host. I participated in many competitions and performances, and I got used to stay under the spotlight and enjoy all the attention on me.
I remember when “Two Broke Girls” was all the rage when I was in junior high school. I really liked the character Max played by Kate Dennings. My friends used to say I resembled Max in the way of speaking, I felt good to hear that and always willing to imitate her. But it is only now that I’ve truly started to think about why. Maybe it is because of her hot figure, her frankness and always dares to love and hate, but perhaps more because of her sharp wit and quick tongue that always made the audience laugh heartily and get more attention. Back then, I always fantasized about enjoying flowers and applause under the spotlight, and my longing for the media industry gradually took root. But beautiful fantasies are always no match for harsh reality.
As I paid more attention on this industry, I found a series of stories in the corner of the world disappeared without follow-up. Journalists should be the voice of the times, making the powerless powerful and the pessimistic moving forward. And I am quite interested in being a political journalist, sports reporter or an announcer, as long as I can spread true stories to the world. I just cannot wait to start a new journey in HKU!
