My name is Tian Jiran, I am a 23-year-old girl born in Shenzhen.
During my summer break in university, I embarked on an internship as a bilingual host and host at Zhoushan TV Station. There, I had the privilege of producing a documentary series focusing on the elderly. This experience deeply impacted me, making me realize that society should prioritize not only safeguarding the rights and interests of the workforce but also giving equal attention to vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. During my senior year, I was fortunate enough to be selected by Hangzhou Asian Games to serve as a bilingual commentator for handball venues. From then on, I aspire to establish a voice on the international stage.
As I stepped into my senior year’s summer vacation, I embarked on an exchange program in London. There, I engaged in dialogues with peers from diverse countries in “International Politics and Human Rights” course. When we delved into the discussion of human rights issues, I profoundly realized the limited exposure Chinese students have to international matters. This experience sparked within me a desire to become an international journalist, committed to delivering comprehensive and objective global narratives to Chinese audiences.
