My hometown, Ningbo Fenghua Xikou Town, is the hometown of Chiang Kai-shek, the president of the Republic of China. It is only 20 minutes by car from my home to Chiang’s former residence. I have visited there countless times since I was a child. Last December, I returned to visit this town.
I walked in the Wuling School built by Mr. Jiang a hundred years ago. The building of this school has been preserved almost from its original appearance a hundred years ago. I feel the remnants of history in this school and listen to the echoes of history.
