I’m Elaine Song Yuning, a 23-year-old girl born in Hunan province.
I graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies last year. My major was Broadcasting and Hosting during my university years, which was kind of related to journalism, but not exactly the same. I attended lots of courses, which taught me how to act as different kinds of host. For example, I made a wide range of podcasts and learned how to perform in front of the camera. But I realized I need to improve my journalism skills in writing and data analysis, as today’s requirements for new graduates are becoming stricter and stricter.
This is one of the reasons why today I’m a student pursuing a master’s degree of journalism in HKU.
I really enjoy trying something new, and I’ve had many kinds of internships and practical experiences so far. I was the Variety Promotion Intern in MGTV, the Overseas Content Editing Intern at Xinhuanet, the Branding Marketing Intern in Midea, and I’ve just finished my internship in Xiaohongshu, as the Market Communication Strategy Intern. I want to have more opportunities to experience more kinds of jobs later, as “learning by doing” is my favorite motto.
