BUILDING KAI TAK SPORTS PARK
Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong’s biggest multi-purpose outdoor sports venue, is set to officially open its doors in March 2025.
Sitting at the north western part of the old Kai Tak Airport site, the new Kai Tak Sports Park includes a 50,000-seat main stadium, a 10,000-seat indoor sports hall, and a 5,000-seat sports ground.
The stadium was scheduled to be completed by June 2023, but a multitude of factors, including the COVID pandemic and difficulties in shipping of construction materials, led to the delayed completion date.
The stadium has already hosted multiple trial events, including a football match in the main stadium, watched by a full-capacity, 50,000 crowd, with no reported accidents.
Later in the year, the venue will play host to multiple events in the 2025 National Games of China.
