Hello there! I am Johnny from Hong Kong. After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a Master of Arts in Philosophy, I embarked on my professional journey as a journalist at Sing Tao. During my year-long tenure, I focused primarily on producing in-depth features and investigative stories that highlighted various social issues. My passion for uncovering the truth and presenting it in a compelling manner drove my work and honed my skills in storytelling and analysis.
Driven by a desire to further develop my journalistic capabilities, I joined the Master of Journalism (MJ) program at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). My goal is to transition into visual journalism, as I believe that pictures and films are incredibly powerful tools for storytelling. The MJ program at HKU offers me the opportunity to acquire the technical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to excel in this field.
Throughout the upcoming academic years, I am eager to gain practical experience through media-related internships. I aim to work with English-language news outlets such as the South China Morning Post (SCMP), China Daily, Bloomberg, or esteemed news agencies like the Associated Press (AP), Agence France-Presse (AFP), and Thomson Reuters. These internships will provide invaluable hands-on experience and networking opportunities, which I hope will eventually lead to a full-time position at one of these prestigious organizations after graduation.
