Hi, I’m Judith, checking in from Shanghai! I’m more of a camera person than a pen person—my words come alive through facial expressions and gestures, which is why I’m thrilled about exploring podcasting, video production, and multimedia storytelling.

I was born in Zhejiang Province but have called Shanghai home since I was six. Speaking two dialects has been like a secret pass, helping me adapt easily to new environments and sparking my love for languages and cultures. This, along with my fascination with people and their stories, is what drew me to journalism.

Growing up in a military family gave me a unique outlook. I spent my early years on army bases until my dad retired. This background, combined with my varied work experience—from tutoring and bartending to working at a tech incubator and a law firm—has given me a broad perspective and plenty of inspiration.

Now, I’m eager to sharpen my skills in data visualization and fact-checking, combining them with visual storytelling. I’m excited to dive into journalism that let me grow, learn, and tell impactful stories.
