Winter is a Cantonese girl studying religious studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In an era where artificial intelligence and technology are shaping the future, she has taken a different path—one that follows her heart. While many students are pursuing degrees in finance, computer science, or engineering, Winter is deeply engaged in exploring faith, philosophy, and the human spirit.

“I want to understand the meaning of my existence,” listen she says, her eyes filled with quiet determination. For her, religion is not just about faith; it is a way to explore the essence of humanity, the questions of life and death, and the moral dilemmas we face in modern society.

Despite skepticism from some people who see religious studies as impractical, Winter believes that understanding different beliefs and spiritual traditions is crucial in a world of rapid change and uncertainty. “Even if AI can answer questions, it can’t replace human emotions, struggles, and the search for purpose,”listen she said.

Through her studies, Winter hopes to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, showing that spirituality still has a place in the digital age.
