Popular Xiaohongshu blogger Wang Zhengjie has recently shared his creative home renovation project, turning an underutilized “L”-shaped north-facing balcony into a charming mini home bar. Originally deemed too narrow and awkwardly shaped, the balcony was initially abandoned due to its limited space and an unsightly large power distribution box on one wall. However, Wang saw potential in the balcony’s floor-to-ceiling window, which offered a pleasant view, and decided to give it a new purpose.<\/p>\n
After considering options like a mini caf\u00e9, Wang settled on creating a mini bar, inspired by a coffee corner he had already set up in his dining area. The transformation included a custom-built bar counter, utilizing existing plumbing originally intended for a washing machine. Wang designed the counter himself, adding LED light strips to enhance the ambiance. To hide the power box, he installed a curtain, leaving the window area open to maximize the view. A bar table was placed by the window, perfect for enjoying drinks and night views.<\/p>\n
Wang also DIYed a magazine rack using wooden boards and wall shelves, replacing decorative books with real ones featuring aesthetically pleasing covers. The space now exudes a cozy vibe, transitioning from a caf\u00e9-like feel during the day to a bar atmosphere at night. While the mini bar is nearly complete, Wang is seeking suggestions to further refine the space.<\/p>\n
