Rose Cheng began her study of Journalism at Jinan University in 2016, where she succeeded in obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in July 2020. She also selected Finance as her double major, awarded Economic Degree by Jinan University in July 2019.
Rose was once an Intern Journalist for Southern Metropolitan Daily, where she was responsible for operating the WeChat official account platform by writing and editing daily news. Among the articles she had written, the most popular one had gained over 15,000 views. She also worked as an Operation Intern in Xinhuanet Guangdong, conducting various work, including writing and editing news articles, communicating with customers, creating the monthly operational plan, etc. She had worked in COGI Cosmetics Company as a PR personnel for eight months after undergraduate graduation.
During her undergraduate study, Rose had learned theoretical and practical knowledge about news writing and editing, ranking the top three in the class. She had once interviewed the Africans in Guangzhou, writing a feature story about the prejudice they faced. She also traveled through Guangzhou, having an insight into the night-shift workers’ lives by creating a photo collection.
Rose is now pursuing a Master in Journalism programme at The University of Hong Kong, eager to improve her writing and reporting skills. Her main interests lie in the Social and Financial fields, and she hopes to become a financial reporter in an international media outlet for future career.
