Macau: Rise and Fall of Democracy

Despite being out of the limelight on the international stage, Macau is in fact the first in the Greater China region introducing democratic election comparing to its counterparts of Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. We will look at how Macau pioneered direct democratic election in Greater China, and how its effort began to fade away under Chinese rule.
