By Jianing Hua & Sandy Zhang

Consider the lonely bread rolls that sit unsold at the local bakery during closing hours. On most days, these rolls, pastries and loaves end up in one of the city’s numerous landfills—just another item among the tons of food that Hong Kongers throw out every day. At the same time, almost a quarter of the population here struggle with food insecurity. Luckily, our unsold bread is about to take a more hopeful journey. Come along with us as we meet the organization and volunteers in Hong Kong that are rescuing and redistributing food for those in need.
