Dylan is currently pursuing a Master of Journalism at the University of Hong Kong. He previously obtained a bachelor of art in journalism under the cultivation of Zhejiang University, one of the most prestigious university in Mainland China.

One thing happening in his career which impressed him the most is an article about the “40 percent rule” of the registration threshold for the “junior college to university” exam in Shandong province. The policy had an impact on the equality of educational opportunity, and the story has draw pubic attention to this, leading to a resolution to a certain extend.
In addition to journalism practice, Dylan also holds theoretical knowledge in the fields of communication, cultural studies from the perspective of Cultural Marxism. These knowledge not only enable him to hold a critical view towards the institutional flaw of the news industry, but leads him to a broader landscape of topics of interest, such as the construction of collective memory, the history of communism, and popular culture like rock music and anime. He hopes to develop these interests and take his skillset in journalism to a higher level here in HKU.
