Born and raised in Macau, Llewellyn is a filmmaker formerly based in his homeland, and is currently pursuing a Master of Journalism at the University of Hong Kong. He previously graduated from National Chengchi University, Taiwan, with a Bachelor of Art in Radio and Television. He then returned to his hometown and worked as an in-house filmmaker for over three years at Marching Productions.
Trained as an all-round videographer, Llewellyn has in depth knowledge in directing, cinematography, and video editing, and was versatile to work in large film crews, as well as producing videos independently. During his career in Macau, Llewellyn has directed and edited documentaries, TV shows, commercials and short films for corporates, NGOs, the Macau SAR and the Hong Kong SAR government. In 2019 – the 20th anniversary of the handover of Macau – he acted as director and editor in a documentary for CCTV-9 channel, which focused on the STEM education in Macau. Aside from being a creative in video production, he also designed and taught video production courses for high school teachers, students, and the Macau SAR government.
Over the course of his profession, he gradually developed his interest towards documentaries. Being observant to human interactions and social issues, his aim is to produce thought-provoking, heart-touching real-life stories, shedding light on the darkest corners in our world.
